Annual consumer savings on Uswitch energy
Using our expertise, we aim to invest in and improve the world around us.
With our unique set of brands, we've got the best of both worlds. The excitement of a start-up and the strength of well established, trusted household names. With the power to reach millions across the UK, every day we solve complex problems with the aim of providing outstanding experiences for our consumers.
At RVU we believe that 'everything is written in pencil'. So we've embraced the quick-thinking, assumption challenging culture from our US Red Ventures colleagues and combined it with our industry expertise to create an exciting place to work. We challenge ourselves daily, while adapting to change quickly.
Our leading brands Uswitch and Money, plus our range of secondary brands, exist to empower the consumer to make more confident home services and financial decisions.
RVU might still be a young business, but the leading brands at our foundation have a long and well established history behind them.
Our brands first came together as part of the Zoopla family. Uswitch, founded back in 2000 and now the UK’s leading site for switching home services joined in 2015, with Money joining a few years later in 2017. This combination of brands, alongside others later became known as ZPG plc.
Our most recent transformation came in May 2018 when both Silverlake, a US private equity firm, and Red Ventures, a company with a huge portfolio of well established digital companies, invested in the ZPG group. From that moment on, Uswitch, Money and our secondary brands came together to create a distinct home services and financial services offering with a new identity. RVU, was born.
And now, we're just getting started ...
Working at RVU there's always a diverse set of challenges to tackle and problems to solve across our unique range of brands, with the power to reach millions of consumers across the UK.
As CEO of RVU, Tariq leads an executive team focused on building a truly outstanding business. Responsible for leadership and strategic direction of the group, his focus is first and foremost on ensuring we are true to our culture of ‘winning the right way’:
“We believe in a high performance environment where each and every employee contributes to the collective effort.”
Tariq joined Red Ventures in 2017 to lead the inception and growth of their European operations, which included the joint-acquisition of the ZPG Group in 2018 and subsequently the creation of RVU. RVU brings together the previous comparison assets of ZPG Plc to create a distinct home services and financial services offering.
Sport - you name it, Tariq plays it…... but he admits he can be a little competitive so generally only focuses on the ones he's good at! Beyond enjoying the competition, he loves being coached, something that gets translated into RVU Culture.
With a BSc in Mathematics & Management Studies from KCL and an MBA from IESE, Tariq has held numerous executive roles in the Media, Telecoms & Digital industries. Laterly this included MD roles at Antenna Group and NBC Universal. Earlier in his career he had a focus on M&A with experience at companies including O2, General Electric and Bear Stearns.
Debbie is our Finance Director with overall responsibility for financial and risk management at the business. That's everything from making sure our employees and suppliers get paid on time to projecting likely future business performance. Plus liaising with banks and shareholders to ensure they understand how the business is doing.
Debbie joined us in 2017, initially leading the Commercial Finance team across the original ZPG function before taking over the reigns when RVU was created.
Before that, Debbie qualified as a chartered accountant, and worked for 11 years in retail businesses (largely online).

Prior to joining RVU, Colin worked in various roles across the staffing and outsourcing industries for 20+ years, holding a number of senior management roles for both FTSE and private companies.
Based on his accent you’d never know it but Colin is American by birth, originating from New Orleans. He claims his love of hot weather, spicy food and bourbon stem from childhood experiences but we suspect it's more likely to have been TGI Fridays.

Will is our SEO Director, overseeing SEO strategy across all teams striving to make sure our brands are achieving Rank 1 in search results.
Will joined the business in 2019, so hasn’t been around long enough to have much of a history but has been around long enough to feel like part of the family… (Cue the awwwwws).
Before RVU, Will accrued over 10 years of experience in the world of SEO and digital, between running his own websites and working with an assortment of large clients across 3 other agencies, including a brief stint as a contractor. These included such names as John Lewis, Canon, Zoopla, Uber and M&S.
Will lives with his fiancée in Highgate, North London, but they’re often found on hiking trails and beaches across the south coast or in other countries. Will is training for the Ironman triathlon and hopes to compete next year in a pandemic-free world.

Kat is our Head of Data Science with responsibility for leading her team to use data and statistics to improve business performance across the whole of RVU. Please come and chat to us about any product improvements you think you can make with data, cool ideas for algorithms or any pain points in your BAU processes.
Kat joined RVU at the end of 2020 from Royal Mail, where she had been running the Data Science team for the past 4 years, modelling all things post including route and schedule optimisation, as well as loads of forecasting, GPS, IoT and computer vision. Her training is as a statistical geneticist and she spent many years (including a PhD), modelling pandemic RNA viruses. She has also worked at British Airways and Aviva.
Kat lives in Wapping with her (still, thanks COVID) fiance and loves to travel, read and watch shows in the theatre. She used to perform stand up comedy as a hobby, always with great enthusiasm but often with limited success!

Ethan most recently worked with Zoopla, building a digital marketing proposition to better connect consumers with properties they love.

General Manager - Home Services
Angus leads our Home Services businesses, keeping more people in the UK switching their energy, broadband and mobile phones with Uswitch / RVU than with anybody else.

Angus joined at the beginning of 2021, following his passion for building digital businesses that improve everyday life. Previously he held leadership positions in both public and private companies at Ebay, Capital One, graze.com (the snack boxes) and as the co-founder and CEO of an edtech business, Hive Learning.

She comes from a career spanning Fintech, banking and small business proposition and product development; having worked in multiple areas of NatWest between Edinburgh, London and Zurich over the past 10 years. Whether it’s launching an online investment platform or realising a small business's digital aspirations, Jen brings a dynamic energy to RVU and a passion for enabling better financial decisions.
A self confessed horse nerd, Jen's a keen eventing fan - arguably the most dangerous of equestrian sports! During her time in Scotland she enjoyed triathlon, even if the bracing Loch swims were toe curling. She still enjoys running, yoga and walking her dog Maple. When she’s not chasing her young son around the garden that is!
